Dearest Baby

Dearest Baby P,

The day I heard your heart beat was the day I learned to believe in miracles. Because that is exactly what you are. You’ve changed our lives for the better in a matter of seconds and I am so very grateful that I get to be your mom!

I never thought this day would come. Thank you for hanging on tight and fighting so hard to be here with us. We love you so much already and can’t wait to see you grow, feel you move and be your parents.

It’s still very early in my pregnancy and you’ve got a long way to grow, but I already feel so protective over you. Dad jokes that I won’t be able to breathe until you are here with us and I think he may be right.

As your parents, we would love to protect you from everything that is bad in the world; but unfortunately we won’t be able to shield you from all the trials of life. So, whenever life you knock you down, I want you to remember that there is nothing you can’t overcome because you are a fighter at your very core. You’ve been fighting even before we knew you existed and you’ve beaten the odds while you were still a teeny tiny embryo.

Whenever you feel self-doubt come creeping in, I want you to know that you are SO LOVED. We loved you before we knew you, even when there was just hope for you, we loved you. I want you to know that you are enough, in every sense of the word, because you mean the world to daddy and me.

So keep on doing a good job of sticking and growing! We are so very excited you are here to stay.

Love your Mama.

Baby P’s heart is beating at 135 bpm, which the doctor said is very good. He/she is the size of a blueberry this week and growing lots of brain cells.

We are still in shock, and awe and all of the crazy emotions associated with the news. But mostly, we just feel so incredibly lucky and blessed that we’ve made it this far and that we will finally be parents!

It’s really hard for us to share our news because we know that tons of people have been on this roller coaster a lot longer than we have and tons are still waiting for their miracle baby. All I can say is, keep trying because miracles do happen and embrace whatever your future brings because one way or another, you will be parents. We are all in this together, we haven’t forgotten the pain. You are NOT alone and I am still praying every day for you.

P.S - We are not ready to share our news with the world just yet. So if you would like to offer congratulations please do so via private messages, on the blog or via text. Mum's the word.

P.S.S- THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who have prayed and cried and cheered us on through out this crazy ride. We could not have done it without your love.
